Today on Sky Sports Racing: Bath and Southwell

We have a busy day’s racing on Wednesday with flat action from Bath and Southwell, live on Your Site Racing...

Dowman and Lady Blanche look to build on encouraging debuts as they clash in the Download The Fairplay App Now EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes at Bath.

Arsenal fans will have their eye on Dowman who made an encouraging start to his career when second over five-furlongs here and will be expected to step forward under Billy Loughnane.

Lady Blanche finished a respectable third when favourite on debut at Beverley earlier this month and Karl Burke's daughter of Persian Force is another who will look to build on that initial promise.

Richard Hannon's The Kalonji Man has already had two starts, one in the Brocklesby before suffering a heavy defeat when favourite at Musselburgh and may be one for nurseries.

Wondrous Light and Welljudged headline a field of nine for this Celebrate With Sponsorship At Southwell Racecourse Fillies' Handicap at Southwell.

The Jonathan Portman-trained Wondrous Light recorded a second career success when beating off Glorious King at Beverley and a three-pound rise seems fair as she drops to a mile.

Roger Varian saddles Welljudged with Ray Dawson in the plate. A well-bred daughter of Siyouni, she has failed to win in five starts but the form of her third at Chelmsford reads well and she may appreciate the return to handicaps.

Others to note include Donna Neck and Dream Illusion who disappointed here last time.

Wezzeer and Gold Star Gazing lock horns in an open Conference & Events At Southwell Racecourse Novice Stakes at Southwell.

James Fanshawe's Gold Star Gazing ran a race full of potential when third behind Title Role at Kempton in October before filling the same position at that venue the following month. The second from that latter contest has won since and he has undergone wind surgery since last seen.

The Roger Varian-trained Wezzeer looked a likely improver when third at Kempton on his debut 23 days ago and, with the benefit of that experience, he could prove hard to beat under Ray Dawson.

Hugh was just behind Wezzeer on debut and warrants respect for Clive Cox and Hector Crouch.

Happy Valley - Harry Bentley, Zac Purton, and Richard Kingscote in action.

4.10 Bath - Silver Wraith headlines opening Class 5 contest.
